Dr. Duy Nguyen
D.O., Medical Director
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas; Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences; completed general psychiatry training in South Florida at the Palm Beach Consortium for Graduate Medical Education at University Hospital in Tamarac, FL
Dr. Duy Nguyen provides psychiatric care in a variety of settings, including residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and also worked previously at the VA Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen is committed to providing a high level of evidence-based psychiatric care in drug rehabilitation settings with a holistic focus on healing and recovery.

Heather Baker-Carr
Chief Operating Officer (MS, LMHC)
Education: Bachelor of Science from Cornell University; Master of Science from Lynn University, with an emphasis on clinical and counseling psychology
Heather specializes in treating trauma, addiction, and severe mental health. She has worked on overseeing substance abuse and mental health facilities at all levels of care. She utilizes evidenced based treatment modalities when working with individuals including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) She is inspired by helping individuals create meaningful lives through a greater understanding of themselves and the family system.

Loren Miller
Chief Nursing Officer
Loren is originally from New York and now lives in Palm Beach County with her five children and two dogs. Loren has been a Nurse for over 15 years with 12 of those being in the fields of mental health and substance abuse. She has risen to the top utilizing her skills in training and development, quality assurance, departmental organization and restructuring, and her keen ability to enhance the patient experience.
As the Director of Nursing for Beachway. she focuses her expertise on leading a team of compassionate, caring nurses and establishing rapport with our clients built on trust. Whether you need medical attention or a smile, you can always find it with Loren.
Carrie Carlton
LCSW, QS, CCTP, VP of Clinical Services
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University; Master of Social Work from Barry University (Miami)
Carrie has been in a leadership role at Beachway Therapy Center since 2014 and has worked directly with patients struggling with trauma, mental health, and substance abuse for over 15 years. Carrie is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and utilizes elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Strategies, and Family Systems to help individuals find a path toward a meaningful life. Carrie recognizes the impact of trauma on the individual but also how the symptoms impact the family system. Her diverse approach to treating trauma blends empathy, compassion, and honesty to address underlying issues that put individuals at risk for decompensation in their adult lives.

Brandon Lutman
MSW, CET-2, CTP, CAP, EMDR Trauma Program Specialist
Brandon has worked in the behavioral and mental health field since 2016 and at Beachway with the Trauma Program team since 2020. His therapeutic philosophy is that the body must be treated in unison with the mind to provide connection and healing. Brandon guides clients in the trauma program toward the healing of both old and current wounds through a gentle, holistic, and client-centered approach. He utilizes cutting-edge experiential paradigms, with an emphasis on somatic healing and neurobiological awareness. He believes in the benefits of addressing core wounds while also acknowledging some current behaviors or actions that might be hindering individuals from having wholehearted and connected lives with others and themselves. Brandon helps teach individuals how to live in the here and now (both cognitively and somatically) and not in the past.
Haydee (Gigi) Cabrera
LMHC, CCTP, CAP, CST, EMDR: Trauma Program Specialist
Gigi has worked in the mental health and substance abuse field for over 25 years. With advanced training in the field of trauma, her goal is to help her clients find meaning and have more authentic connections with others. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, an EMDRIA Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Psychotherapist, a certified addiction professional (CAP), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a certified sex therapist (CST). She is also hypnosis and DBT trained. Gigi has advanced training in trauma therapy and EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She specializes in problems that grew out of relational trauma including early maladaptive schemas, co-dependency, boundary problems, self-esteem, control issues, and interpersonal relationship issues.
Dina Sagarese Coleman
Dir. of Family Services (LMFT)
Education: Masters Degree of Science from Nova South Eastern University
Medical Credentials: Family Therapist and Adjunct Professor at Nova South Eastern University
Professional Bio: Dina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida with over 20 years of experience that she brings to Beachway Therapy Center as the Family Therapist. Dina holds a Bachelors Degree from St. Joseph’s College in New York specializing in Early Education and a Masters Degree of Science from Nova South Eastern University; Marriage and Family Therapy. Upon graduating from St. Joseph’s college Dina relocated to South Florida. During her years as the owner of the Davie Play School Dina decided to obtain a Master’s Degree. This would enable her to transition her knowledge of human development/teaching into the field of therapy with a concentration in family systems, children/adolescents, and drug/ alcohol addiction. She has provided therapy in a range of different treatment settings over the past 18 years. Dina took a leap of faith and decided to once again be the leader in her own company and opened Breathe DSC LLC in 2016. Through Breathe DSC LLC she has been contracted to teach as an Adjunct Professor at Nova South Eastern University, teaching a course to all incoming freshmen called GPS for Life. In addition, her contract work has led her to assist those in the field of addiction, along with a thriving private practice. Dina’s passion is to reach groups of people through experiential practices and motivational speaking. Dina’s expertise, compassion, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others have been an ongoing vision and passion. When Dina is not working she loves to spend time with her family; especially her nieces and nephews. She finds peace and serenity at the ocean side and traveling the world is on her bucket list.

Deborah McNamara
Counselor (CAC)
Education: Member of The Transformation and Rebirth Institute of Ft. Lauderdale
Deborah has more than 20 years of experience as an addiction professional. She has spent the last ten years studying the esoteric and metaphysics regarding the fundamental principles of enlightenment, self-healing, and recovery at The Transformation and Rebirth Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. Because Deborah has witnessed the effects addiction can have on individuals and families, she has a passion for seeing eye to eye with those who are struggling. She also understands the importance of helping families to understand the true nature of addiction.
Supporting patients to make sure they feel safe and respected in addiction treatment is of the utmost importance to Deborah. As a counselor, she helps patients identify treatment goals, understand the nature of addiction, and comprehend the basic principles of the recovery process.

Brian McSwain
Program Director LMHC
Education: Master of Arts from Palm Beach Atlantic University
Brian brings clients extensive experience in cognitive behavioral therapy and treating mental health problems. Brian is deeply compassionate to the needs of those struggling with addiction and guides his clients through a process of action, self-awareness, and accountability through the twelve-step program to the point of life-long sobriety. Brian also understands the impact of addiction on family members and works with the entire family to achieve sobriety and prevent relapse.

Troy Chappell
Christian Track Facilitator
Pastor Troy is an ordained minister and has 15 plus years of experience in ministry with people in addiction and recovery. He is affiliated with LifeSpring Church in West Palm Beach and is the Founder and President of Freedom Recovery, Inc. Pastor Troy is a native Floridian and has deep family, ministry, and recovery roots here in Palm Beach County. Pas
As the Christian Track Facilitator, Pastor Troy will present interactive Bible Study Groups and Recovery Bible Groups. He is also available for individual spiritual counseling as requested.
Pastor Troy has an extensive background in recovery as he has facilitated small recovery groups, Bible study groups, large recovery events, church services, and one on one discipleship. Troy’s heart is for people in addiction to be set free and to walk in the plan, purpose, and destiny that God has for each and every individual.
Wendy Happ
MS, LMHC
Education: Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University
Wendy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 10 years of experience providing therapy services to clients with mental health and substance abuse disorders.
Wendy uses an eclectic approach and blends evidenced-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (SI), Solution Focused Therapy, and psycho-educational techniques. Wendy’s holistic therapeutic style or approach explores and educates clients about how mind, spirit, and body are interconnected. Her theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, they are free to experience meaningful change.
John Reardon
Admissions Director
John was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. He came to South Florida in 2014 for a chance to better himself and improve his quality of life. Through his successes, he is on his journey to doing just that.
In September of 2021, John was promoted to the Director of Admissions. He joined Beachway in 2017 as a Behavioral Health Tech and went on to be promoted to an Admission Specialist in 2018. As an Admissions Professional, John has been the first point of contact for many of our patients. John believes in the positive outcome Beachway can provide for those in need.
Helana Cabral
Community Relations Manager
Helana Cabral joined the Beachway Therapy Center as Community Relations Manager. Helana comes to Beachway with extensive experience in substance abuse and mental health treatment. She is passionate about helping individuals stay on track in their recovery throughout the treatment and aftercare process. She maintains and establishes relationships with current patients, alumni, and fellow employees to promote a positive environment for Beachway while also engaging with community organizations, treatment centers and referral sources through raising awareness of the services available through Beachway Therapy Center.

Denis Holmes
Chief Executive Officer
Denis brings years of knowledge, understanding, and experience to meet the needs of patients at Beachway with a personal motto of “if you put recovery first, anything is possible.” He willingly goes to any lengths to assist individuals that suffer from substance abuse while understanding the impact that addiction can have on the entire family.
Denis has a unique understanding of the aftercare treatment clients require to maintain sobriety. He is involved with day-to-day operations at Beachway so that patients’ needs are met at the highest levels possible. Within the community, Denis has a high level of credibility because of his unwavering commitment to high clinical standards and ethics.

Pamela Egan
Chief Financial Officer, BAS
Pamela brings more than fifteen years of invaluable experience in founding and running new businesses to Beachway. Her business expertise has been instrumental in building Beachway to the outstanding facility that it is today. She works tirelessly to create a safe and comfortable residential experience to support the recovery of Beachway’s patients.
Understanding the impact of addiction first-hand, Pamela is dedicated to Beachway’s mission of offering excellent clinical care to those seeking recovery. She enjoys getting to know each patient and making sure Beachway is not only meeting but exceeding expectations.

Executive Chef
Rocky earned his food service management degree from New England Tech over twenty years ago. Having spent his life working in a variety of culinary settings, he brings a casual, healthy approach to the food that he prepares daily. He enjoys working with his team in Beachway’s state of the art kitchen, where he creates flavorful, healthy dishes that meet the dietary needs of our patients. On the rare occasion that he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family.
