Tim Roberto is a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC), a Recovery Coach Professional (RCP), and Director of Community Relations at Beachway Therapy Center. He is also the founder of Stomping Out The Stigma, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing confidential, life-saving counseling services to veterans and first responders.
A first-generation American raised in New Jersey, Tim grew up in a family that valued service and education. Despite that foundation, he began struggling with substance use at an early age. What started as experimentation developed into a chronic addiction that ultimately affected his relationships, health, and career, including his service in the United States Marine Corps.
Although he launched multiple successful businesses, his substance use disorder progressively took priority. By age 44, he experienced homelessness in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Through the support of a fellow Marine, he received a scholarship to a local rehabilitation facility—an opportunity that marked the beginning of his recovery and career in behavioral health.
Over the next nine years, Tim advanced through several roles within the treatment setting, including Behavioral Health Technician, Admissions Counselor, Director of Alumni Services, and Director of Public Relations. After more than a decade of sustained sobriety, he earned his Certified Addictions Counselor credential through the Florida Certification Board and facilitated clinical groups throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties before joining Beachway.
Tim brings both professional training and lived experience to his work, advocating for long-term recovery and access to care for individuals and families impacted by substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. He will celebrate 18 years of continuous sobriety on April 15, 2025.
