Successful Drug Rehab Therapy at Beachway

Get Freedom From Addiction

At Beachway we understand that there may not be a second chance at recovery so we strive to be the last treatment program you will need.  By providing a continuum of care, from PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) to Outpatient services, we can offer a fully individualized treatment plan that meets the clinical and medical needs of each client. Length of stay will vary for each client, most of our clients stay between 30 and 90 days, determined on an individualized basis.  By providing an extremely low client to therapist ratio we can identify and address underlying, co-occuring disorders.  Under such professional supervision clients can begin to recover in a safe, residential-like environment.

Reset Your Brain to Stop the Cycle of Addiction with Neurotherapy

Neurotherapy2018-10-09T14:09:05+00:00

Choosing the right treatment facility may be the most important decision you make.  Finding the most comprehensive program and the best facility to begin your personal road to recovery should be considered carefully.

Addiction is a disease that hijacks the brain and alters the way it functions, and how the brain is structured. But, we can retrain the brain with evidence-based neurotherapy that targets areas of dysregulation. Neurotherapy tools are an effective intervention for mental health issues that drive addiction. By using traditional EEG brain-wave biofeedback and brain stimulation techniques, we can prescribe an individualized treatment plan, track progress and modify treatment.

Heal More Deeply

The brain can heal with the help of neurotherapy tools, and you can find relief from mental health concerns and addiction. Those struggling with a dual diagnosis of addiction in conjunction with anxiety, depression, PTSD, bi-polar disorder or other mental health concern can especially benefit from this therapy.

What Is Neurotherapy?

Neurotherapy, also called neurofeedback or neurobiofeedback, uses real-time displays of brain activity (EEG) to teach the brain to self-regulate. Maintaining certain brainwave patterns controls mood states and behaviors.

Reprogramming the brain. By maintaining certain brainwave patterns, moods can be stabilized and certain dysfunctional behaviors essentially can be reprogrammed. Neurotherapy activates areas of the brain that need feedback in order to produce “normal” brainwave patterns.

Addressing stressors. We know that one of the single greatest causes of addiction can be unresolved traumatic stress and emotional issues that cause a person to use substances to self-medicate. Brain mapping identifies whether the brain is vulnerable, and neurotherapy techniques stimulate areas of the brain that lack regulation.

A complementary treatment. Neurotherapy is used in conjunction with other addiction treatment therapies, including individual, group and family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. It is one more tool to help a person achieve long-term recovery.

>>Transcranial electrical stimulation, a form of neurotherapy, was shown as a highly effective method for correcting psychiatric disturbances, including anxiety and depression associated with drug and alcohol dependency. This clinical research came from a double-blind placebo-controlled study.

Brain Mapping

Before a person receives neurotherapy, he or she will participate in brain mapping to assess the brain. This allows the clinician to identify areas with atypical brainwaves that can trigger dysregulation, and cause lack of control over moods and behaviors. By mapping the brain, we can tailor an individualized neurotherapy treatment plan that addresses where the brain is misfiring and causing vulnerability to addiction.

How does it work? Brain mapping uses traditional EEG brainwave biofeedback and brain stimulation techniques to speed up neurofeedback.

What can you see? We can see if the brain is suffering from undetected injury, and we can identify underlying learning problems, stress, emotional and mental concerns.

Neurotherapy Treatments

At Beachway, our trained clinicians deliver a range of targeted neurotherapy treatments based on what a client’s brain mapping results reveal. By addressing unresolved emotional stresses that are impeding normal brainwave activity, we can help people who are vulnerable to addiction prevent behaviors that could lead to substance abuse.

Transcranial Electrical Stimulation (TES). This treatment normalizes a person’s neurochemistry through gentle stimulation of the brain’s hypothalamus and associated brain structures. The hypothalamus is the brain’s pleasure center—and there are also centers for anger, pain and fear. TES was developed by a medical researcher and is designed to rebalance these brain areas to stabilize mood and behavior. We use a TES tool called Nexalin that is FDA-cleared for treating depression, insomnia and certain chronic pain issues.

Low-Intensity Pulsed Electromagnetic Stimulation. Brain mapping can indicate whether electrical signals in the brain are misfiring, and we can use Neurofield to restore appropriate electrical activity. This non-invasive method of delivering electromagnetic energy during minute-long intervals can gently realign those signals. (Your wrist watch puts out more energy than the Neurofield—it’s completely safe.) Today, hundreds of clinicians use Neurofield as a non-invasive, relaxing treatment for addressing brain frequency issues that can make a person more vulnerable to substance abuse and addiction.

EEG-Guided Light Stimulation. Light stimulation can reduce brain toxicity that results from substance abuse. EEG-guided brain wave disentrainment is the technical term—and it essentially reduces excessive brain-wave voltage. Most people who experience this treatment find it relaxing and restorative.

Neurofeedback. LORETA z-scored neurofeedback is the cutting edge of neurofeedback treatment, and it allows us to create a 3-D model of the brain’s electrical activity. From this, we can determine what structures of the brain cannot be touched by traditional neurotherapy. Then, we can use FDA-cleared brain-mapping technology to engage deeper brain structures that are responsible for emotional regulation and controlling cravings. LORETA is a deep-healing process that can transform a person’s ability to learn—and this is critical for establishing healthy, normal control and mood to stay sober.

Bio-Acoustical Stimulation. We know that the body is influenced by external frequencies, and a bio-acoustical utilization device (BAUD) generates sonic waves that match brain frequencies. With BAUD, a person can internalize what it feels like to have regulated brain waves. Music frequencies increase or decrease mood levels, and drum rhythms also have a documented effect on a person’s state of relaxation and self-control.

The benefit: BAUD can provide different stimulation through two speakers, which increases the impact and gives a person more control over learning self-regulation. As BAUD is working, you can see and feel how you are self-regulating based on frequency changes.

The long-term impact: It’s a true learning experience for an individual that reinforces a sense of control. BAUD has been documented as an effective intervention for mental health and pain-related issues, which can be the root of substance abuse and addiction.

There’s just one simple step between you and beginning a life of freedom! Take that step now!
